Here, you can create and set up different feed components and feed mixes used in the herd. This will be the list you’re using when registering feed usage at "General entries" and "Feed".

Edit recipe: You can edit the components in a recipe. Find the components by entering the component code or use the search icon.

Calculate recipe: If the components of a recipe have been changed, e.g. price or nutrients, you can click on the icon to recalculate the recipe and update it.

Code: The code you define yourself and, in the example, here we have the codes 1 to 4 as components and 10 a premix.

Name: Assign a name to the component

As recipe: There are two recipes; R1 and R2. By checking this box, the feed component will be used as a recipe.

In the example above, Rye (2) is not a recipe, while “Suckling” (R2) is.

Composition: By typing a component code in the white box just below Composition you can view the amount and percentage of that component present in other components and recipes. In the example below, the amount and percentage of barley in the gestation mix (Recept1) is 40.

You can use the  to add registration columns. It is recommended to set up your own layout by making a copy of the AgroSoft/AgroVision layout before making changes.

Price, energy content, and nutrient content

For each component you can register price, energy content, and nutrient content. This is done by double clicking on the component which opens a new window. The component window for Barley sows is shown below.

Valid from (Date): Register the date the information (price, energy nutrients) is valid from

Price/kg: Register the price per kg for the current component

Energy: Register the energy content of the current component

Nutrient content: Register the nutrient contents of the current component

The nutrients can be connected to individual components as well as recipe components. If nutrients have been registered for all components and you open a recipe consisting of one or more components, the nutrients will be calculated based on the composition of components in the recipe. It is also possible to register the nutrients for each recipe manually.

If price, energy content, or nutrient content changes, you can add new dates and values to the component using the empty row at the bottom of the window. The old values will still be present, and the program will remember the values in regard to their date. This ensures that the correct information is being used in the E-control report. The example below shows updated values for the “Barley sows”.

Recipe

By making a recipe you can connect multiple components to a single component and thus create a recipe component, though this is only relevant for On-farm mixing. To connect components to a recipe, click on the Edit recipe icon  or double click on the Composition Amount column. In the example below, components are being added to the Gestation mix recipe.

When the components have been selected then enter the percentage of each component.

If you have feed mixing equipment, then the Amount can be the kg you have to produce a batch of feed, for example 4500 kg.

Advanced

In the example below, the Valid variant and Variant columns have been added. The columns are added/removed via the Layout setup .

The “Valid variant” columns are used to view which variants are valid on a given date. Register the date in question in the box just below “Valid variant”. If no date is registered here, the columns will show the variant valid for today’s date.

The example shows valid variant for 01-06-2021 (green box) and a new price variant for 01-07-2021 (blue box). The valid variant for the recipes are calculated using the “Calculator” (purple arrow).

The program will always remember the earlier values and make sure they’re being used in the correct periods in the E-control report.
