To enter a death against a sow in the farrowing unit, you have to ensure she does not have any suckling piglets on her. 

Therefore, her piglets must be moved.

  1. Start by finding the sow card and click on the "Transfer piglets" icon at the top of the card.
  2. A new window will open where you can enter the date and the number of piglets to be removed. It is not necessary to write which sow the piglets will be added to. 
  3. Now the sow is no longer lactating and you can enter the death date without the need to enter a weaning date. 

It is also possible to transfer the piglets by going to "Sows boars" - "Transfer piglets".


Another way of making it possible to exit a lactating sow, is simply to wean her with 0 piglets.
