This FAQ is only reserved for herds with nucleus management, as it is not approved for breeding and multiplier herds to do the following.

This guide is made for you who have nucleus management, but there are some sows that should no longer be included in the breeding.

This is done as following:

1. Create a fictitious herd number.
Open PigVision and go to "Breeding" – "Herd number pool" and create a fictitious herd number as well as set "Breeding Type" to "None".

2. Assign the sows to the new number pool

Go to "Sows / Boars" - "Animal" - "PigVision" - "1. Breeding stock". Add "Herd Number" in "Layout setup".

Now you can enter the fictitious herd number for the sows that will no longer be included in the breeding. You can overwrite the current herd number or click on the column and then on the "Search" icon at the top and double-click on the fictitious herd number to insert it.

3. Delete/transfer the breeding ID

After you have changed the herd number in "Breeding stock", the ID number must also be deleted or transferred. This can also be added in the "Layout setup". It is recommended that you insert another column for example "Tag ID", "Ear notch" or "Ear tag" and copy the ID number to it so that it is not lost.

Then you delete the ID number in for example "Tag ID" if you have DanBred.

4. Delete index

Find "Index" in "Layout setup". It is below the breeding company for example "DanBred" - "Index".

If you have Topigs Norsvin it may be hidden and you must therefore expand the level by clicking on the arrow to the right.

Delete the index by clicking on the column and pressing "delete" on your keyboard.

5. Send data to the breeding company

Export data from PigVision to the breeding company to update the herd number of the sows that are changed.
