To provide reproduction registration to the Danish Genetics (DG) breeding database and receive indexes on the herd’s breeding stock PigVision must be set up to make the exchange. The data exchange is done via AgroVisions communication program to third parties, ADEX (AgroVision  Data EXchange). This means that PigVision, running either a standalone version or hosted by AgroVision, exchanges data with ADEx and it is ADEx that communicates with third parties, in this case Danish Genetics. Before the data exchange can start, the program must first be set up to be able to exchange data both in relation to DG setup in PigVision but also in relation to ADEX which must follow rules in the GDPR. You also have the possibility to go through our eLearning-course here: e-Learning Danish Genetics.

Setup in PigVision for Danish Genetics data exchange:

From the menu Breeding, Herd Number Pool, you must set up at least one herd linked to DG.

  • “Number” is the number that DG has given the herd.

  • “Breeding type” must be set to "Danish Genetics Nucleus"

  • Now all animals that are to be part of DG Nucleus, must have a DG ID and assigned a DG herd number and a date of entry into the herd. The date of birth or the date of entry can be used for the herd group entry date.

  •

  • All breeding animals that are to have the DG herd number must have a date of birth and a breed.

  • All breeding animals must have a DG ID, which can be copied from existing ID, such as. Danbred ID or PIC Tattoo.

  • Now the PigVision side of the data exchange is ready. Now comes the ADEX (AgroVision Data Exchange) setup.

Data sharing with third parties:

  • We have made an agreement with Danish Genetics that farms that wish to exchange data with DG can do so from PigVision, after the farm has made an agreement with DG and have received a DG Nucleus Management herd number.

  • Once you have the agreement in place with DG, the individual herds must give permission for AgroVision to do data exchange with DG. This is done with a few clicks and a few entries, which are described below.

  • When you are in the main desktop of PigVision, click on the "MyAgroVision" icon, in the lower right corner.

  • When you click on the icon "MyAgroVision", the following window will appear:

  • The first time you log in, you must register as a "New user".

  • This is done by entering your e-mail address and a password.

  • Then click on "Register new user".

  • You will after a few minutes receive an e-mail to the email address you entered, where you then must click on "Activate" to activate your login.

  • Once you have activated your login you will receive a second email which is just a “Welcome to MyAgroVision.

  • You can now log in and activate data exchange.

  • Enter e-mail and code and click "Log in"

  • If you have not entered the farms CPH and VAT number in the “Farm details”, the program will ask for this.

  • You can now log in to MyAgroVision with a username and password. When logged in you will see this page.

  •

  • Fill in the username, password and herd number(s) that DG has given you.

  • When you close the MyAgroVision window PigVision and ADEX then take over and send data to DG and will also retrieve indexes and DG approved AI-boars the farm can use.

Setting up the numbering sequence for tagging breeding offspring.

  • From the menu Breeding, Herd Number Pool double click on the Herd number and you will get the page for setting up the number pools.

  •

  • "Number based on" must be the breed of the offspring.

  • “Breed” The breed to be tagged in this pool

  • "Single letter" must be attached to each number pool. Special for DG

  • “Second breed” is if you have a second breed to be tagged from the same number pool

  • “Numbering of” is to specify the gender to be numbered in the number pool.

  • "Count style" must be "Number pool"

  • “Number pool” Enter the interval of the number pool

  • “Year/major to be used. The year/major is in DG terms “System number”.

The actual numbering of the piglets can be done from the farrowing registration screen or from sow cards.

  • Setup on farrowing registration:

  •

  • The program will, based on number pool setup, suggest which number pool to use.

  • Click "Execute" to confirm and create the tags in PigVision. Here it is important that you click execute as you enter the farrowing, the start number is not updated if the execution is not done as you enter the farrowing.

Numbering from the sow card:

  • First, enter the farrowing information and then double-click on the farrow date.

  • You can now check whether it is the right number of pigs that need to be numbered and that the suggested numbers are correct.

  • You can change both the number of pigs and the start number of the number sequence.

  • To create the numbers, click on "Create animals”.

  •

  • Here you will then get a screen that shows the piglets tagged.

  •

It is also possible to change a number if you for example have had a defect eartag and that number has not been used. Then you click on that number and change it.
